Vitesse is cloud based software aimed at making warehouses more efficient.
Our customers can use the information from Vitesse to serve their customers faster because more capacity has been created.
Our customers can choose to reduce costs by trimming overtime or agency spend or reassigning core employees to other duties.
Our customers could combine both approaches and reduce costs on some days and increase output on others.
How does Vitesse provide this level of granular insight?
Vitesse creates a digital map of the warehouse environment and recognises where one way systems are in situ and where shortcuts exist.
Vitesse takes data from multiple data points such as a WMS (Warehouse management system) and Time and Attendance (T&A) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) to paint a complete picture of the working day.
Vitesse knows how far away every location in the warehouse is, in relation to any other. As a consequence, the distances being travelled by pickers is know and the appropriate amount of time is allocated in the task time. Travelling makes us about 50% of the effort or time allocated for picking tasks – it is such a big part that using Units per Hour (UPH) as a performance measure isn’t really fair.
Vitesse knows if the picker is stooping or stretching to retrieve stock from low or high locations and can ensure the task times set reflect these realities.
Vitesse can make use of weights of dimensions too and ensure time is allocated to those tasks that include weighty or bulky items, or both.
You can see a fair picture is being built of what is required to carry out each task, as each task is invariably unique.
Vitesse works for everyone, employees can essentially manage themselves, managers can prioritise where to spend their time.
Vitesse ensures every employee is measured the same, using empirical data, meaning the workplace becomes a whole lot fairer. Warehouses giving individual performance feedback to employees using Units per Hour (UPH) as the benchmark are perhaps unwittingly, not aware that this isn’t really the best way nor indeed is it necessary.
In summary Vitesse delivers:
• Reduced Operating Costs
• Increased output Capacity
• More focussed and effective management
• A fairer workplace
